Since the iPod does not operate properly when disconnected, the correct action is to put it into Disk Mode. That means there is a data connection between the iPod and your Mac. If the iPod's screen says "Connected," that's good. Click Apply to sync your iTunes music library (or selected portion of it) to the iPod. For example, you can maintain one or more playlists in your iTunes library with songs you want on the iPod, and select them under Playlists (on the iPod's Music settings screen). Then, make your selections from the lists below. Otherwise, choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Below that, if your iTunes music library can fit on the iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library. This turns ON automatic syncing and associates the iPod to the new iTunes library. If this is a problem, please post back.Ĭheckmark the box for Sync Music.
